Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene.

It is more commonly known by its brand names of PTFE, Fluon, Algoflon, and Hostaflon, to which other stabilising and fluidifying components are added to improve application possibilities.

Polytetrafluoroethylene is a polymer made up of fluorine and carbon molecules.
The fluorine-carbon bond is one of the strongest known in chemistry, and the deriving polymer has special physical-mechanical, electric, chemical resistance and surface characteristics that make it ideal for use in numerous applications where many other materials, both natural and synthetic, have not given satisfactory results.
The products made using this particular polymer are:

  • Pressed sheets
  • Skived tapes
  • Extruded bars
  • Pressed bars
  • Adhesive films
  • PTFE fiberglass material (in rolls of different heights, adhesive or non-stick, zone tapes) with PTFE spray having special non-stick characteristics
  • Polyimide Films (Kapton® Dupont)
  • Polyester Films (Mylar® Dupont)
  • Film PTFE
