Polyester is a class of polymers that also produces yarn used in the production of technical fabrics.
The characteristics of these thread/yarns are:
- Optimum tenacity and resilience (dynamic tensile strength. In metallurgy, the ability of a metal to resist the forces applied)
- High abrasion resistance
- Heat resistance (the polyester is combustible but tends to burn with a self-extinguishing flame)
- Good resistance to chemical agents
- Low moisture regain
